Sweet Grounds
It’s about time we talk about the SWEETEST GROUNDS in our neck of the woods! A joint venture by Love is Sweets (the Sweet part) and Spot On Coffee (the Grounds part), has created a new spot, hang out, and place to get some of our favorite local goods. Sweet Grounds is located just north of 775, with two perfect little microshops, and an area that is filled with goals and dreams of children playing, parents hanging out, comradery, individual quiet time, and whatever our community needs of this new space. I am so excited to share the story of these two coming together and what their plans are for Sweet Grounds. Plus a few special treats are in here too!
I have written individual blogs on both of these businesses… find Spot On’s here and Love is Sweets here!
Spot On owner, Nicole, and Love is Sweets owner, Christina, met around the time that Spot On Coffee opened up their first location. Christina was new to the area and began visiting the coffee trailer during lockdown time and she says she was “desperately needing adult interaction”. Nicole gave her just that, and a friendship as formed! Nicole says Christina would come in for a morning or afternoon (sometimes both!) coffee, much like she does now, and she appreciated her kindness and bubbly personality.
Christina noticed that Spot On was supporting another cottage bakery, so she took a leap and offered Nicole cake pops to see if her customers would like them, and the rest is history! Most weeks Nicole was going through 2 dozen+ cake pops and is credited by Christina as an instrumental role in getting her pops into the hands of Wilson County. Nicole says that not only have the pops become a staple, but Christina has become a friend and cheerleader, which she says she is blessed to have.
Though the two microshops are separate buildings, they sit only a few feet apart PLUS you can still get select cake pop flavors at Spot On and Love is Sweets carries their signature collab pop – Chocolate Espresso!
Together they hope to be able to host small events, markets, and pop ups for other small businesses, food trucks, and vendors. They truly love and support all local businesses and I know that anything they do to aid others and for our community will be filled with heart and success.
When asked their favorite moment so far of working together, Christina says “the moment last year when we were kidding around about this idea and then we thought ‘uhm, why can’t we actually do this?!’.” and Nicole says “Watching our combined dreams come to life. The first time I pulled onto the hill and saw Love is Sweets bright pink door, my heart exploded with excitement for her!”. As you can see, they both have so much joy and love for one another. I find it so refreshing to watch and hear them speak of one another and their dreams for Sweet Grounds. It is filled with love, gratitude, and opportunity.
Nicole and Christina know that they have a tremendously supportive following and they are so excited that they are able to grow and bring this to their current followers and newcomers.
This Saturday, Sweet Grounds is a recommend stop during the 2nd Annual Jingle & Mingle (read about that here) and they will be offering anyone with a wristband for the event to get 10% off of their purchase!
I hope you’ve enjoyed learning about these two wonderful ladies and how their dreams have come together, forming a friendship for them and a new business for all of us to enjoy together.
