Love is Sweets

Love sure is sweet, and it’s even sweeter when it is in the form of Christina’s scrumptious cake pops at Love is Sweets! This journey started for Christina way back in 2009 in Dallas, so boy are we lucky that this fantastic small business has ended up in our town! Christina is a wife, mother to 3, Physical Therapist, and of course, the owner of Love is Sweets!

To start this off, let’s go to the beginning, circa 2009. Christina was getting married and decided to make her own wedding cake (dedication station!). Though she now looks back and can see how much she has truly improved her craft over the years, she thought her cake was magnificent, and so did her friends! They even started asking her to make some of their cakes as well. She eventually moved into cake pops and found that she enjoyed these so much more than cakes! Fast forward to 2019 - Christina and her family moved to Floresville, Texas, and then the pandemic hit. Quickly her old craft of cake pops came back to the surface as a way to fill time at home, and she also found it as a creative outlet since it is completely different from her normal job as a PT.

Whataburger themed cake pops, double yum!

The art that goes into these pops is awe-inspiring, and that is one of Christina’s favorite parts of having Love is Sweets. She loves the challenge of new design ideas that customers bring to her and thoroughly enjoys perfecting each pop. I mean seriously, have you seen some of these pops?! Check out more of them on her Instagram or Facebook, because they seriously make my jaw drop.

Love is Sweets has grown quickly over the past few years in our town, and Christina says she is blown away by the love and support that our community has shown an outsider that decided to chase her passion in our town. It is a huge leap of faith to start you own business, invest the money and the time, and especially to do it in a place where you are a newcomer and don’t have your support system surrounding you. In our town she has found friends, loyal customers, and constant cheerleaders. Christina has found a completely new support system that she never knew possible in people that were once strangers! As a local, this fills my heart to hear how much love and acceptance a transplanted Floresvillian has found here.

There are massive goals for Love is Sweets, and I hope that we can all see them come to fruition. Aside from the normal dreams of growth for business, Christina wants to one day be able to have her own space to host community and family events, cake pop workshops, do even more wholesale, and even start shipping! Christina loves seeing adults and kids alike enjoying her craft. The pictures posted and kind words shared, make chasing her goals of more space and bigger dreams all that more exciting! Every time an order comes through for a few pops or someone books her for their special event, she finds so much happiness and inspiration.
