Fairview Blues Boutique
Welcome back! This week I am doing my first boutique feature with Fairview Blues Boutique! This is an online boutique owned by one of my long-time friends, Kelsey Williams. She played tennis with Roseann (RX Baked Goods) and myself in high school and it’s so fun to still be keeping up all these years later! Check out her story below.

Kelsey is a wife and a mom of two little boys, she is a teacher for Floresville North Elementary, and has a passion for putting outfits together and helping all women feel good about themselves! To say she is busy is an understatement. Kelsey started Fairview Blues back in July of 2021. Kelsey felt her heart calling her to open this boutique after seeing and hearing so many women tear themselves down. She has always loved hair, makeup, and fashion and knew that she could channel her love and energy for these things into something greater that could benefit others! I have known Kelsey for years and this is no surprise, because when I tell you she has a heart of gold, I mean it!

Now, not even a year later, Kelsey is seeing her impact of helping women of all shapes and sizes feel good in their skin and clothes, with beautiful and modern fashion. She says one of her favorite things about owning Fairview Blues is seeing and hearing that her customers feel good about themselves. Besides helping other women, Kelsey has loved being able to build relationships with the people in her community and beyond, that she may not have known or met without having opened her boutique.
I feel like Kelsey has barely even dipped her toes in the water of being a small business owner, but she has some BIG goals that you are going to want to watch unfold! She is so proud of the success she has already seen with her online shop and wants to expand into a warehouse to be able to have more inventory available for her customers. She currently bases this business out of a spare bedroom at her house (which blows my mind) and is rocking it! She says having a brick and mortar storefront would be exciting, but feels that pursing the growth of her online storefront is where she feels she is meant to be.

When asked what she wishes people knew about her business, she said “…how much of my heart is in this!”. Besides benefiting others, it is a creative outlet for her that she enjoys more than she could explain. Kelsey is the sole operator of Fairview Blues. She’s the buyer, accountant, marketing, website maintenance, photography, pup up shops, shipping, and more! Her plate is overflowing and she is often told she has too much going on, but Kelsey loves every bit of it and it fills her with so much joy.
With all exciting things, comes hard moments. Kelsey often finds herself awake until two, three, or four o’clock in the morning while the rest of her family sleeps. Kelsey is driven by success and giving her customers great experience, so she will often work these long hours so that she can continue to make her shop and herself a better version each and every day.

Within the whirlwind of excitement that Kelsey’s first year as a boutique owner has held, she has had many great moments, but often finds herself looking back on her first pop-up event to reminisce. She remembers her tent being FULL all day, with so many women in and out, commenting on their favorite pieces of clothing. She made sure in this moment of chaos, to take a step back and take it all in. In the midst of the craziness, was the success of a small business owner and she didn’t want to forget any of it. She felt proud of herself and all that she had accomplished. It is so hard in today’s world to not compare yourself or your success to others, and in this moment, Kelsey said she realized how much she was accomplishing and how she felt in that moment was something she will never forget.
