RX Baked Goods
I am kicking off these blog entries and features with one of my oldest and dearest friends, the Cookie Lady herself, Roseann Ximenez of RX Baked Goods! It’s so fun getting to go through different stages of life together and I am so proud watching Roseann chase her dreams. Roseann is baking up some yummy cookies, big goals, and a whole lot of passion so we sat down together to chat about it all. I'm thrilled to be sharing this story with y’all. Check it out below!
It all started back in our Freshman year of high school. Roseann got a cookie cook book and quickly began trying out recipes. Trecking through the trial and error of making the perfect homemade cookie, Roseann began taking cookies to school. She brought them to our tennis tournaments and gave them to other sports teams on their game days as well (Her now husband was actually one of the first to try her famous chocolate chip cookies when she started taking them to the football team. Talk about romance!). Roseann quickly became known as our school’s “cookie girl”.
Fast forward to May of 2021. Roseann is a new mom, still making her famous cookies for family and friends, and slowly began delivering cookies to Spot On Coffee. Hearing that so many people loved her cookies made her want to take this business further. She has a true passion for baking and wanted to know the people and families enjoying her craft, plus be at more local businesses and town market days, filling our town with something she loves. She talked with Valerie at Mrs. Annie’s Peanut Patch in town, and after hearing their story of how they started out, she knew she could do this and ran towards the challenge of growing this small, home-kitchen based business.
As RX Baked Goods has grown over the last year, Roseann has had the opportunity to bake for many small businesses in town, but says that it is still a heart-warming moment to see two of our town’s local coffee shops carrying her cookies since the beginning! On top of that, she was humbled when Sister’s Boutique asked her to bake for their Christmas event this past holiday season. It meant so much to her that a successful business, that has been in our town for so long, wanted HER cookies! Besides businesses, RX bakes for your personal occasions too! She made the cutest minis for my daughters birthday this past January.
She’s only just starting, but there are big goals and dreams for RX. Roseann hopes to one day be a Floresville staple. She wants people to think of her cookies when they think of Floresville or even stop to grab one anytime they are driving through town. I love that these huge dreams are coming from someone I have known for so many years. When I asked her what she wished people knew about her business, her reply was “I wish people knew how small of a countertop I actually have!”. Nevertheless, she makes it work! Roseann is dedicated to her cookies and their perfection. Most people close to her know that she has a very strict Quality Control (we get the misshapen but still delicious ones). From shape to looks, Roseann will bake extra just to make sure that all cookies pass QC with flying colors and she wants people to know the amount of love that she puts into every. single. order.!
There are big things coming from RX Baked Goods and I hope you all tune in to her journey as she chases her dreams. If you haven’t tried a cookie yet, get on it! From her famous chocolate chip to white chocolate macadamia nut, from true jumbos to minis, she has a little something for everyone! Plus, she just added cookie CAKES to her line-up. Place an order at rxbakedgoods.com or snag you one from a local business: Spot On Coffee, Love My Coffee Corner, and Squeak’s.
I hope you have enjoyed getting to know the person behind the business. Our local dream chasers deserve all of our support. Please consider shopping with RX Baked Goods the next time you need cookies for an event, holiday, or just because! Roseann is the sweetest and you won’t be disappointed!
