Telling the stories of our local business owners is how this started. Striving to share the hearts and stories behind each business owners “why”, to give the community connection and understanding of what makes these businesses important and encourage our community to choose our local shops over the large chain stores.
Homegrown Merch was established as a way ti help support the Homegrown Grant Fund and to spread awareness about the Homegrown Mission. Through Homegrown branded apparel and items in the “Support Local” realm, the merchandise is meant to not only look and feel good, but DO GOOD as well. Partnered with Branded Maverick Co., the Homegrown Merch line is on the road to great success in providing funds to the grant system.
The last Saturday of every month in downtown Floresville, the Homegrown Market was started as a way to give our community more opportunities to support local and shop for their favorite local products. We are continuously growing and working towards a better experience for the market vendors and the community members shopping there.
It all started with wanting to bring more attention to locally owned businesses, share the hearts and dreams of the owners behind them, and encourage our community to support small rather than large chains. Aside from that, Homegrown aims to give opportunities to shop small at monthly markets and works to raise funds for the Homegrown Grant.
The Homegrown Grant Fund was established to give grants to local small business owners in the Wilson County area. Through a board of directors, grants can be awarded to these businesses for a multitude of reasons. The goal is to help businesses thrive, gain access to assets needed to grow, improve their infrastructure, and not only keep their doors open, but THRIVE.
